California Auto Club to Export 500 Jobs to Lower-Cost States
California State Automobile Association plans to ship nearly 500 jobs to out-of-state call centers within 20 months in a bid to reduce its expenses in lower-cost states.
The affected workers will be encouraged to relocate to an existing auto insurance claims call center in Las Vegas or one built later in either Colorado Springs, Colo.., Or Salt Lake City.
The announcement affects 300 field employees who work out of their homes in the Sacramento and San Francisco regions.
