California Senate body to homeowners insurance
Complaints about insurance rates on the wind in their sails, California Senate Panel today launched an investigation, if the mere statement of claims is the homeland is not insurable.
The Senate insurance-nine members of the committee will attempt to determine whether new rules are necessary to ensure that owners have access to insurance.
“This is a serious problem in the homeowners market at the moment,” said Senator
Jackie Speier, the Democrat from San Mateo, chairman of the committee. “We are studying as much the problem is real and that many may be the consequence of market manipulation.”
The Senate probe, which has been in the work of more than a month, insurance falling as Commissioner John Garamendi also is opening an investigation into insurance rates.
