State Fund Rolls Out 24 ‘Heat Illness Prevention’ Seminars Across California
SAN FRANCISICO April 8, 2008 / PRNewswire / - The summer is fast approaching, there is an urgent need to prevent employers from the “warmth” of diseases that can cause serious injuries or even death to workers. State Compensation Insurance Fund, in partnership with Cal / OSHA board service, today announced the deployment of the warmth of 24 seminars disease prevention across the American state of California.
As part of their employer Education Series, State Fund has long Heat Illness Prevention seminars in California in the past two years as part of their obligations in terms of awareness of its policyholders and his colleagues on the serious risks of Disease heat. The seminars are also available to the public.
“California has experienced severe heat waves in the last two summers, emphasize the importance of these seminars,” said the chairman of public funds Janet Frank. “Through these seminars available to our policyholders, their employees and the general public, we hope, will help awareness, and provide relevant information on the prevention of heat illness.”
State Fund has considered disease prevention seminars Heat 24, and Patterson starting on 22 April Redding. The national seminars then run them: Chico (April 23), Merced / Fresno (April 24), San Diego / Modesto (April 29), El Centro (April 30), Stockton (1 May), Five Points (9 May), Palm Desert (May 13), Santa Ana (May 15), Victor Villeneuve / Santa Rosa / San Luis Obispo (May 22), Bakersfield (May 23), San Bernardino (May 29), Visalia / Oxnard ( June 5), Fresno (June 13), Pleasanton / San Jose (June 18), Sacramento (June 19), Salinas (June 20). The dangers of the disease of the heat can not be overestimated. The seminars are held with speakers from the State Compensation Insurance Fund’s Loss Control Department, and Cal-OSHA Consultation Service.
The subjects are covered in the seminars are: - How do I prevent heat illnesses. — Understanding California’s Heat Illness Prevention regulation, and how to respect them. — Updating of the company, the prevention of injury and illness Program (IIPP), with Thermo-disease prevention. — Learn to recognize the signs and symptoms of the disease from heat. — Understanding of environmental and personal risk factors. — Determining how they react to heat, stress emergencies.
All seminars are free to several Spanish. Participants will receive material information.
